Our Approach
A well-finished wall starts with a thoughtful plan.
Wallpaper has a sequence: understand the surface, read the material, plan the layout, then work through the details that make the pattern feel at home.
New York Wallcovering works directly with customers to discuss the project, request an estimate and arrange an installation.
Call to talk it through
A strong pattern can follow the architecture of a room.Start with the room—not a checklist.
You can call before you have exact dimensions or a final paper choice. A short description of the room and the idea is enough to begin the conversation.
- 01
Talk about the idea
What room is it? Is there a paper or mural in mind? What would you like the wall to change about the space? A phone conversation can help define a useful next step.
- 02
Consider the wall and material
Wall condition, prior coverings, surface texture and product instructions all influence preparation. Pattern repeat and panel direction shape how a design can be laid out.
- 03
Discuss the project scope
Room dimensions, project location, selected material, wall condition and any removal or preparation needs can help inform an estimate. Share what you know; photos or measurements are optional aids, not the price of admission to a conversation.
- 04
Arrange the work directly
New York Wallcovering handles the inquiry and installation arrangements. If an on-site consultation, wall review or measurements would help, call and ask whether a visit can be arranged for your project. Availability is subject to confirmation.
A practical detail
Preparation is part of the finish.
Walls should generally be clean, dry and sound before wallcovering is applied. Old adhesive, loose paint or surface irregularities may need attention. New drywall and glossy paint may call for different preparation from a previously papered wall.
Each product has its own installation guidance. The wall and the material should be considered together.
